In 2022, 8 year old Marciano Morea was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia. His mother, Gianna, emotionally suited up alongside her son, and that’s when they began the battle. Gianna wasn’t alone in the fight; she leaned on the Union Township, New Jersey community. The police department became like an extended family, and through the force, she was connected to Lowe’s store manager, Pete Alborano. When Pete heard about what Marciano was going through, he had only one question: “How can I help?” Marciano had one request-to be the boss. At the time, due to Covid and his illness, having him in the store was too risky but fast forward almost 3 years later, he has arrived! What a day this was and how fortunate I am to have been hired by Lowe’s to capture his big day! I was tasked with filming Mariano’s arrival, mic’ing him up and letting him take charge of this Union, New Jersey Lowe’s store along with filming interviews w/Marciano, his mom and Store Manager, Pete Alborano. I was hired to edit my first film, “On the Road Again”. It’s a narrative short film about a young college student and her estranged father who has all of a sudden come back into her life. It’s being submitted for numerous festivals in 2025 and hopefully it gets a ton of traction. After a brief introductory phone call then a face-to-face meeting with director, Grace Moroses, I felt that we had a comprehensive understanding of how this film should be edited. She trusted me to create something she could be proud of. None of it could have been possible without Grace’s meticulous attention to detail along with every shot listed and described by her script supervisor, her cinematographer’s brilliant film work, the actors ready for every single take and the rest of her team’s dedication to making a great film.
